In the asylum's walled garden he paints irises, lilacs, and ivy-covered trees. Landscapes, such as Yellow Wheat and Cypress, would be some of the most exquisite paintings he would ever produce. Paintings from this period at Saint-Rimy are exhibited to critical acclaim.
